Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir launches Tafelscene, a new, free membership programme for concert-goers ages 35 and under that offers substantial discounts on ticket prices while enhancing the concert experience. Tafelmusik’s former outreach program for the 30 & under crowd, Face the Musik, was responsible for thousands of tickets sold since its launch in October, 2005.

Membership sign-up for Tafelscene is free, and those who register online before December 23 will be eligible to win a free iPod and the complete Tafelmusik Media collection on CD and DVD. Tafelscene members can hear "one of the world's top baroque orchestras" (Gramophone Magazine) live at all of Tafelmusik's 2012/2013 season concerts for as little as $15.00 with valid photo ID. Tafelscene members are also welcome at Pay-What-You-Can Fridays at Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre.

The first Tafelscene event of the season takes place on Saturday Sept 22 at Bach Brandenburg Concertos — one of three concerts taking place at Koerner Hall inaugurating Tafelmusik’s 2012/13 season. After the concert, Tafelscene members will be hosted at a special Musician Talkback session in the lobby while they enjoy a complimentary beverage.

Tafelscene encompasses all of the Orchestra’s young audience initiatives, which are designed to develop the next generation of baroque concert-goers. The programme’s emphasis will be on growing a strong community of passionate concert-goers by nurturing personal relationships between patrons, staff, and musicians, and by encouraging enjoyment of baroque music through discussion, talk-back sessions with musicians, and special Tafelscene events.
