One Night Only

Haus Musik’s second season of immersive, mixed-genre concerts continues on February 1, 2018 at The Great Hall (1087 Queen St. W.) An intimate evening of baroque and DJ music, imagery, and dance, this Haus Musik explores the theme of “bringing the great outdoors inside.” Doors open at 8 p.m. with live music starting at 8:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 and are available for purchase online at hausmusikto.com.

Directed by Anna Theodosakis (UofT Opera, MYOpera), this edition of Haus Musik combines baroque and DJ music with sights and sounds of the outdoors to unlock long-lost secrets of the past. Forgotten manuscripts by Biber and anonymous composers, as well as the rare instrument known as the viola d’amore (the ‘viola of love’) take centre stage alongside DJ sets from Noble Oak.

Vancouver-born Patrick Fiore amassed some 10 years of writing solo piano and symphonic compositions and began to really write music with a computer for the first time at 19. Thus the musical expedition of Noble Oak began.

Patrick's music has evolved along with his production capabilities and past experiences, creating immersive and captivating songs that are equally as passionate when instrumental as they are when layered with his ethereal tenor. Spanning a range of tempos and beat styles, this is music to love to, with a story packed into every song and melodies that lift you into the air. Noble Oak has been globally recognized in dance, urban and indie online outlets including Thump, DIY, Indie Shuffle, Yours Truly and CLASH Magazine, with radio support from BBC Radio 1's Phil Taggart and Rob da Bank.

Captivating, engaging, and lively, Haus Musik is an experimental performance concept from Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, “one of the world’s top baroque orchestras” (Gramophone). Haus Musik challenges the rules of the traditional classical music experience, taking it out of the concert hall and dropping it into an atmospheric, theatrical setting. Past Haus Musik events have featured interventions by DJs, an alien dancer, and hundreds of white balloons.
