The Birth of the Symphony
Repertoire will be announced at a later date, but will include works by a range of 18th-century composers, possibly to include Paisiello, Gossec, Brunetti, Martini, Naumann, Gassmann, J.C. Bach, Haydn, and Mozart.
We will start early afternoon on Sunday, January 5, and end with an orchestral performance by the participants the evening of Saturday, June 11.

Pitch for the Institute will be determined by the wind applicants. Ideally we would work at a’=430, but if we don’t have adequate wind applications with access and experience on 430 instruments, we will consider a’=415 as an option.
String players should to be prepared to play on late baroque, transitional, or classical bows at the Institute. If you do not have access to an appropriate bow, let us know.
