A celebration of Vivaldi’s most energetic and amorous concertos, starring Tafelmusik’s own musicians.

Our long association with Antonio Vivaldi has entered a new phase with the arrival of Music Director Elisa Citterio. In this celebration of the composer's unmatched vivacity and inventiveness, we present a colourful bouquet of Vivaldi concertos.

After her electric performances of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons last year, Elisa takes the solo role in his love-themed concertos “L'amoroso” and “L'amato bene”, which will be featured on the 2019 release of a major new recording of this music, her first with the Orchestra. Tafelmusik’s remarkable musicians are the soloists in the vibrant concertos that complete the program.

What's interesting about this concert?
  • This concert is a celebration of Venice and love, featuring Vivaldi's two love-themed concertos.
  • Local talent: all of the soloists performing are drawn from the Tafelmusik orchestra (violins, oboes, lute, and bassoon).
  • You'll hear it first: this program will be featured on Music Director Elisa Citterio's first recording with the orchestra, to be released in March 2019.
