Haus Musik: Strangers in Strange Lands

Baroque music meets modern poetry.

Travelling to find inspiration isn’t a new idea/concept, and composers in baroque Europe left the comfort of their homelands to discover new countries and sounds. And surprise, surprise — when you get people of different musical cultures together, musical styles flourish. Galant music takes centre stage in this night of discovery, including poetry by special guest Ahmed Moneka.

Tafelmusik’s Haus Musik series sets out to reimagine classical music performance and presentation, and for this latest installment we take over the Burdock Music Hall in Toronto’s West End for a relaxed night of classical music and brews. Come for the music, but stay for the brewery and amazing food!

Limited seating. Bar open throughout.

Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra: Marco Cera (oboe), Julia Wedman (violin), Patrick G. Jordan (viola), Margaret Gay (cello), Charlotte Nediger (harpsichord)

Guest artist: Ahmed Moneka
