Free your senses with Tafelmusik

If you live your life bold and with a bit of spontaneity, this is the night for you. The stylus fantasticus (“fantastic style”) was an unrestrained manner of making music in 17th-century Europe (related to improvisation). Have a drink or two and let the fascinating world of the “fantasticus” take over.

Tafelmusik’s Haus Musik series sets out to reimagine classical music performance and presentation, and for this latest installment we take over the Burdock Music Hall in Toronto’s West End for a relaxed night of classical music and brews. Come for the music, but stay for the brewery and amazing food! Limited seating. Bar open throughout.

Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra:
Patricia Ahern and Chris Verrette (violins)
Dominic Teresi (dulcian)
Lucas Harris (lute)
Charlotte Nediger (harpsichord)

Guest artist: Colleen Allen, jazz musician

Lighting designer: Patrick Lavender

17th-century sonatas by Marini, Buonamente, Bertali, and Schmelzer
