We return to Zimmerman’s Café in baroque Leipzig, the home of Bach’s Collegium Musicum concerts, where he led performances of his own music as well of works of friends and colleagues. Bach enjoyed a long friendship with Telemann, godfather and mentor to his second son. Telemann and Handel met as students in Leipzig and became fast friends, corresponding regularly for decades. We spend an afternoon at Zimmerman’s in the company of these musical friends, sharing music with you that they may well have shared with each other.
