Here at Tafelmusik, performances of Handel Messiah are an annual tradition. Also a favourite of ours, Bach Christmas Oratorio was last performed by the orchestra in December 2015, and was scheduled to be performed this season—until the pandemic affected our ability to gather for live performances.
Soprano Brenda Enns shares her thoughts leading up to our annual performances of Handel Messiah. Brenda has been a member of the Chamber Choir since 2000, and has deep relationship with the composer's beloved masterpiece. We hope her words inspire you this season.

Tafelmusik is thrilled to be partnering with CBC Toronto and Daily Bread Food Bank this year on their Sounds of the Season fundraiser in support of GTA food banks. We chatted with Daily Bread Food Bank CEO Neil Hetherington over email to learn a bit more about their mission, why the holidays are so important, and how we can all get involved.
Tafelmusik: Tell us about the mission of Daily Bread Food Bank. How many people do you serve?
Joining us in this season's Handel Messiah is a stellar line-up of soloists: soprano Joanne Lunn, countertenor James Laing, tenor Rufus Müller, and baritone Brett Polegato. We sat down with our four soloists to find out a bit more about them. Enjoy!
