We are thrilled to invite you to Tales of Two Cities: The Leipzig Damascus Coffee House. This celebration of music and culture in 18th-century Germany and Syria is returning to Koerner Hall to launch our exciting cross-country American tour, which will end in Frank Gehry’s magnificent Walt Disney Hall where we will be guests of the Los Angeles Phil.
This concert will be the last time that I play in one of my own special projects since it will take place within the final month of my 40 years with the orchestra. The concert is especially dear to my heart because the members of the Tafelmusik orchestra and special guests, actor Alon Nashman and Trio Arabica, express a passionate love of music which crosses the borders of nationality, religion and culture. It is a view of the arts and of the world which comes from what I think is a uniquely Canadian perspective, and we are grateful for the opportunity of sharing it with you and with the international community.
Whether you have seen the show before, or are new to Tafelmusik, do come and join us—it would be great fun to see you!
