Please indicate your comfortable singing range - i.e. the range you usually sing within, not the outer limits: this is for the purpose of ensemble repertoire selection. (Pitch is a'=440. Middle C is C4, the octave below is C3, the octave above is C5. All octaves start from C, so the G above middle C is G4, and the G below middle C is G3.)

  • Recordings must be received by 5:00pm on Friday, March 1, 2018
  • Please include the date of the recording and a list of the repertoire submitted on the recording
  • Recordings must be emailed to
  • We accept audio or video files; please ensure the files have high sound quality
  • If your files are too large to attach to an email, you are welcome to email us Youtube links, Dropbox links, or Google Drive links
  • Singers are expected to sing two contrasting baroque arias (opera, cantata, or oratorio) or songs
  • Recordings can be at any pitch

The Application for Financial Aid is a separate application form, and can be found on the Fees and Financial Aid page of the TBSI website. The Application for Financial Aid is due March 1, 2018.


Tuition Information

Total Tuition is $1375 CAD for the Vocal and Instrumental programs. 

If you are accepted, full tuition is due April 21, 2018.
Contact the Tafelmusik office if you need to arrange payment by instalments.

Please Note:

  • International students are responsible for obtaining their own visas and completing all papers and forms required to study in Canada.
  • Full tuition for participants accepted to the institute is due April 21, 2018. Tuition will be refunded to Participants who withdraw from the programme between April 21 and May 8, minus a $200 cancellation fee. Tuition will not be refunded after May 8, 2018.
  • Participant will have sole and absolute responsibility for his or her instrument(s) and hereby releases Tafelmusik from any and all liability of any kind whatsoever in respect of damage to or theft of the participant's instrument.
