The Tafelmusik Winter Institute (TWI) has been held annually since 2013, offering intensive orchestral workshops on specific themes. Over the past eight years we have explored French, Italian, English, and German/Austrian repertoire, the concerto grosso, and the birth of the classical symphony. Experienced players of period instruments have been selected by audition to join us to participate in rehearsals, sectionals, seminars, masterclasses, and to present a final public orchestral concert. We have been honoured to welcome gifted musicians from Canada, the US, Europe, Israel, Asia, Australia, Central and South America.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to host TWI in 2021. Plans for future Institutes will be posted as they are available.
