We’re very excited about what the renovation means for the future. But all the digging and foundation-laying has led to the discovery of some lost mementos from Tafelmusik’s past.

A type-written program that slipped under the stage and lay hidden for 33 years. The repertoire for the 1980 concert featured music by Bach, Vivaldi and Teleman. The concert was directed by Kenneth Solway, one of the founding members of the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra.

- An issue of the Toronto Star from 1985. The paper features a glowing review of Tafelmusik performance of Handel’s L’Allegro, Il Penseroso ed Il Moderato, written by William Littler. The paper was unearthed just as Tafelmusik was preparing to stage the same work for the Luminato Festival with the Mark Morris Dance Group.
