Four Seasons: A Cycle of the Sun
As the earth makes its year-long journey around the sun we are witness to the most awe-inspiring show on earth – the unfolding of the seasons. Tafelmusik performs Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and also shares the stage with virtuoso performers from China, India and Nunavut. This cross-cultural celebration features Wen Zhao (pipa), Aruna Narayan (sarangi) and throat singers Aqsarniit. The concert will end with “Winter” – a new work by Canadian composer Mychael Danna. Concert designed and researched by Tafelmusik bassist Alison Mackay.

Tafelmusik’s concert programme was made into an acclaimed documentary by Media Headquarters, and premiered on CBC’s Opening Night in 2005.
