Will Johnson's 'My Musik'

Beethoven: Missa solemnis in D major, Op. 123 / Symphonies Nos. 3 & 9. While studying in Germany, a group of singers aged 18 to 32 gathered in Überlingen to study and perform various works by Beethoven. We rehearsed for several weeks both the chorus of Fidelio and the almost unsingable Missa Solemnis.

A View from the Orchestra – what our musicians are thinking about Baroque Austria: Salzburg and Vienna

Baroque Austria: Salzburg and Vienna is Tafelmusik’s first concert at our newly revitalized home venue, Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre, Jeanne Lamon Hall. We are looking forward to showing off our new space, but also to introducing you to some rarely-heard, and really quite exciting, music. Guest directed by the German/Argentinian violinist Manfredo Kraemer, this concert includes music by Fux, Biber, Schmelzer, Rittler, and Muffat.

Most of the time when I’m listening, I’m concentrating very hard, which isn’t a break. As a general rule, I’m pretty likely to be listening to CBC 1 or a baseball game.

8 weeks until opening night Trinity-St. Paul's !

Progress continues on the renovations at Trinity-St. Paul's Centre. The framework of the new and expanded stage is in place, and the acoustic baffling along the orchestra wall is being erected.
New paint on the ceiling vaults, demanding full scaffolding and hours of precise workmanship, will make a great impact on the revitalized space. Inspired by the original historical design, the new paint is a welcome update to the the former green throughout the hall.
