Toronto, ON, May 5, 2014 … Seven Tafelmusik musicians get up-close and personal with Baroque + Beer
, an experimental, deconstructed concert event complete with beer tastings on Thursday May 15, 9 PM, in the non-traditional setting of the Tranzac Club, 292 Brunswick Avenue. This event is part of Tafescene, Tafelmusik’s tremendously successful membership programme for concert-goers ages 35 and under that offers substantial discounts on ticket prices while enhancing the concert experience. Admission for Baroque + Beer is $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door (with proof of age using valid I.D.), and includes two free beer samples.
Baroque + Beer offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most famous baroque pieces ever composed, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Tafelmusik’s Marketing Coordinator Tim Crouch is the evening’s host, and the musicians —Julia Wedman, Chris Verrette, and Aisslinn Nosky, violins; Patrick G. Jordan, viola; Allen Whear, cello; Alison Mackay, double bass; and Lucas Harris, lute — will perform and provide insights into the music, give instrument demos, and mingle with the audience. McAuslan Brewery will pair beer samples with the “Spring” and “Summer” movements of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and brew representatives will be on hand to answer questions about their special ales.
