Take a Grand Tour across baroque Italy with our new Music Director as your guide.

“Freshness, liveliness and even a touch of (the) Mediterranean… have been brought by Italian violinist Elisa Citterio.” – L’Ape Musicale (on her 2015 Tafelmusik concert)

No 18th-century Grand Tour was complete without a taste of La Bella Italia. Join Tafelmusik’s new Music Director Elisa Citterio as she leads you through the sights, sounds, and tastes of her home country: the sunny hilltops and shady lagoons, gilded theatres and dusty churches, the orchards and vineyards that inspired Italy’s great baroque composers.

From Vivaldi’s “Autumn” to Fontana’s sonatas (written in Elisa’s hometown, Brescia), Steffani’s dramatic suites to Locatelli’s energetic concertos, the innovations and passions of Italy’s musicians are all to be found here. Join us to welcome Elisa to Tafelmusik’s home venue, in her debut as Music Director at Trinity-St Paul’s Centre.

Pre-concert Chats

Join us for a free pre-concert chat one hour before each show with Tafelmusik musicians Patricia Ahern (violin) and Dominic Teresi (bassoon). They will explore the new style of early 17th century Italian music, and provide some musical demonstrations along the way.

Post-concert Talkback

Join us after the performance on Wed, Oct 11 for a free informal discussion with our musicians and guest artists. This is an excellent opportunity to have your questions answered while they are fresh in your mind.
