This year, we invite high school choral students to join Choir Director Ivars Taurins and members of the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir for Baroque Education Day for choirs on April 30th, 2008 at Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre. Students will prepare excerpts from Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas in advance with their teachers, and Ivars Taurins will visit school choir classes and rehearsals to help teachers and students prepare for the day. On April 30th students will attend a morning concert by members of the Choir and Orchestra, masterclasses on excerpts from Dido and Aeneas, and a staging workshop with Marshall Pynkoski of Opera Atelier, followed by a massed choir performance by the students, led by Ivars and members of the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Choir.
