Advanced Certificate in Performance (Baroque Option)

The Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto, in collaboration with Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, offers a one-year programme of intensive immersion in baroque performance on period instruments, leading to an Advanced Certificate in Performance (ACP). The programme includes:

• private lessons with Tafelmusik musicians
• a solo recital
• a relevant music history course
• chamber ensemble: weekly coaching and an end-of-year recital
• an opportunity to rehearse and perform with Tafelmusik in an orchestral setting
• an independent research project
• attendance at Tafelmusik rehearsals and concerts

This programme is offered exclusively for performers on period instruments. Instruments offered are oboe, bassoon, strings and harpsichord.

The ACP application period is now closed.  Details for the 2013/14 application process will be posted in September 2012.

The University of Toronto also offers graduate degrees in performance (MMus and DMA), and players of period instruments may be considered.
