Thank you for your interest in the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute. We welcome auditors to all aspects of the institute except private lessons and coachings. Auditors may sit in on masterclasses, lectures, workshops, orchestra and choir rehearsals, dance classes, opera workshops, and chamber ensembles, and are encouraged to attend our free concert series. Please note that auditors do not actively participate in the classes they choose to attend.
 
The schedule of events as well as the registration form for TBSI can be found at the bottom of this page.
 
All events from May 29–June 9 take place at the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto, unless indicated otherwise. At noon on June 10 we move to Grace Church-on-the-Hill to prepare for the June 11 Grand Finale concert.
 
Auditors may register for the entire Institute, or purchase daily or class passes, as follows:
 
OPEN PASS
Cost: $575
 
An open pass allows the auditor to attend any events of his/her choice during the entire Institute, May 29–June 11. To obtain an open pass, please contact Caitlin Cross, Administrative Coordinator, at tbsi@tafelmusik.org/ 416-964-9562 x241 (as of May 29 call the TBSI Office, 647-223-7994)). You may also register in person as of May 29 at the TBSI Office at the Faculty of Music (Room 130).
 
DAILY PASS
Cost: $70
 
As we do not limit the number of auditors, there is no need to register in advance for a daily pass. Simply come to the TBSI Office at the Faculty of Music (Room 130) on the day you wish you attend.
 
INDIVIDUAL CLASS PASS (GOOD FOR 1 MASTERCLASS, LECTURE or WORKSHOP)
Cost: $30
 
There is no need to register in advance for individual classes, lectures, rehearsals, or workshops. Simply come to the TBSI Office at the Faculty of Music (Room 130) at least 15 minutes before the scheduled class/lecture to purchase a pass. Note that the schedule is subject to change, so you are advised to call the TBSI Office (647-223-7994) to confirm the times of your selected class 24 hours before you plan to attend.
 
 
Whether you are auditing the entire Institute, or individual days or classes, it is essential to check in at the TBSI Office upon your arrival each day to check for any schedule changes, and to determine room assignments for each class. An up-to-date schedule is posted outside the TBSI Office, and staff is on hand to answer any questions. Office hours are 8:00 am to 10:00 pm daily (from 9:00 am on Sunday), and the office is located on the main floor at the west end of the building, just off the main lobby. At noon on June 10 the TBSI participants, faculty and staff move to Grace Church-on-the-Hill.
 
Prior to May 29, all inquiries should be made to the Tafelmusik Office at 416-964-9562 x241. From May 29 onwards, all inquiries should be made to the TBSI Office at 647-223-7994.

All concerts are offered with FREE ADMISSION. The concerts on May 30, June 4, 5 & 9 are seated on a first-come, first-served basis — no tickets required. The Grand Finale on June 11 is extremely popular, so patrons must obtain a ticket to ensure admission. Auditors who purchase an open pass to the entire Institute may pick up a ticket at the TBSI Office. Auditors who purchase daily passes, or passes to individual classes, must obtain a ticket from the Tafelmusik Box Office. Tickets are available as of 10:00am on Tuesday, June 6, and must be picked up in person (maximum 2 tickets per person). They may not be reserved in advance of June 6. Note that all tickets were distributed within an hour of becoming available last year.
