Tafelmusik - Meet the Choir
Benjamin Stein

Tenor Benjamin Stein is pleased to be adding to his eclectic musical existence his burgeoning skills as a lutenist and theorbist. This year, aside from his regular engagements as singer, teacher, church music director, composer, guitarist and pianist, he is busy with many theorbo and lute recitals, in which he sings as well as plays music of the renaissance and baroque eras. Ben has an M.A. in Musicology from the University of Toronto, and has sung for Opera Atelier, Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Elora Festival Singers and the Nathaniel Dett Chorale. He teaches guitar and voice at Havergal College, is Associate Music Director at Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto, and has recently begun to write a regular choral column for Whole Note Magazine.
