Tafelmusik - Meet the Choir

Described as the quintessential light lyric tenor (Opera Canada), Cory Knight is already proving to be in demand as a soloist and ensemble singer. Making his professional operatic debut as Telemaco in Opera Atelier’s production of Monteverdi’s Il Ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria, he has gone on to work with such groups as Chorus Niagara, Pacific Opera Victoria, Orchestra London Canada, Tapestry New Opera, Toronto Chamber Choir, and Toronto Classical Singers. Highlights for the 2010/2011 season include Bach's Christmas Oratorio with Pax Christi Chorale (dir. Howard Dyck), Handel's Messiah with Mississauga Choral Society (dir. Mervin Fick), and Mozart's Requiem with Toronto Classical Singers (dir. Jurgen Petrenko). A graduate of the Glenn Gould School and York University, Mr. Knight has also studied at the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, Italy (dir. Alberto Zedda) and the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart (dir. Helmuth Rilling). Cory attended the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute in 2010, and we are delighted to welcome him to the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir.
