Claudia Lemcke studied piano and voice in her native Germany. In 1995 she joined the German female choir “Cant’ella,” with whom she also performed as a soloist, and since 1996 she has been a member of the Vocalensemble Rastatt, under conductor Holger Speck. With the Vocalensemble Rastatt she made several recordings for Carus. Claudia moved to Toronto in August 2006, and has since sung with the Toronto Chamber Choir under David Fallis, and is a member of the Tallis Choir under conductor Peter Mahon. She has also sung with the Bach Consort under Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Aradia Ensemble and Opera Atelier, and sings with the Bach Festival Choir under Helmuth Rilling. Claudia sang in Tafelmusik’s performances of Handel’s Solomon in May 2007, and we were delighted to welcome her as a member of the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir in September 2007.
