David’s first engagements with a baroque orchestra came from Tafelmusik. Since then he has played and recorded with many other groups including Musica Antiqua Koln, Boston Baroque, Quatuor Mosaïques, Les Talens Lyriques, Les Arts Florissants, the Ensemble Baroque de Limoges, and Anima Eterna. Solo performances include the Vanhal concerto with Tafelmusik (1994) and concertos by Hoffmeister, Pichl, Bottesini, Dittersdorf and Sperger. David was principal bass of the Camerata Academica des Mozarteums Salzburg for seven years. Presently he is principal bass with la Chambre Philharmonique led by Emmanuel Krivin in Paris where he and his family live. David teaches baroque bass at the Schola Cantorum of Basel, and has led workshops in Karlsruhe and at McGill University. This is his sixth year teaching at the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute. |
